the easier path

I was just having a discussion with a friend and I decided to truncate the conversation. Here's how that worked:

---
md >> "don't tempt me"
mc >> "to what? make an excuse to not see a friend? that'd b horrible..."
md >> "not really"
mc >> "... :( fine I'll try not to tempt since a bad thing seems to b such an easy option for u... :(("
md >> "bad things are for everyone. as for me actually texting or other such, i can't imagine why you would be so upset about that. also, this is a form of sarcasm. a language i thought you readily recognized."
mc >> "it's a bit less recognizable for me in txt format, this I've discovered... ~ yes, factually, in life, bad things will happen but u dont have to focus on it, like it or help them happen..."
md >> "you must not believe me to have a humorous bone in my body. ~ that, in part, was a philosophical discussion. apparently those don't go well with you in text, so I'll stop now. Neither focus nor assistance were brought up as a point though. ~ as another point, I wasn't talking about bad things happening, but people that do bad things. Honestly, the wrong thing is much easier to do."

---

It's just a fact of being here on earth and human. It's easier to do the wrong thing than the right one. It's part of being in a sinful world. Yes, I said sinful. That's how that works here. It's easier to be selfish than to be loving. It's easier to harm than to heal. It's easier to destroy than create. It has been since that damnable garden fruit binge we went on. The person in that discussion can't understand this, it seems, but when I look at our lives, I see it in him just as I see it in myself. It's a daily war with ourselves to do the right thing. The wrong thing is easy to do.
