After work (which I was commanded to leave an hour early), I headed home and got ready for dinner with my mom. She was tired from work the night before, but we laughed and talked about a lot of things. Most of it was serious, but we find a way to smile and connect. She says she's proud of me. I don't know why, but I'm glad I can make her happy.
Getting home, I got together with friends and we talked. My uncles called and I laughed with them. My grandmother sung happy birthday to me like she has every year for the last 20 or so. I love it every time. Just so you know: she's epic. TYVM. After a while, I felt like I was on a radio station. That was fun. I miss my family there so very much sometimes. I called my twin and talked to my dad.
My roommate bought me alcohol for no reason (I don't drink...well, except the sake. I drank a little of that). I got really good gifts, but the most important one to me was peace, quiet, and friends to share a decent day with. Most of that happened saturday and that was pretty fun (minusing the fact that Pollux was sick from drinking. That never goes well with me. I feel sad every time it happens, but I tended to him which meant cleaning vomit up, preparing the trash can to be barfed in, water, toast, etc). More presets from the roommates that day (and one of them even got their tax return early. I think that is God's gift to me because I really wanted them to have money for themselves that day).
Present list:
- calls from family (Alton, Jerry, grandma, grandpa).
- three new pairs of underwear (one, two, three). guess which ones I'm wearing :P
- a sushi eating set! bowls for sauce, plates for sushi, and chopsticks. It looks adorable too. XD. I'll totally post pictures later when I find my camera.
- new t-shirt with some pretty interesting stuff on it...
- sake. plum flavored sake. plum flavored sake that i drank.
- girl scout cookies.
- a pickle shaped card.
- another card with $20 which i used to pay my cable bill.
- restored phone service.
- visits from long-missed friends.
- steak :)
It was a relaxed weekend and I enjoyed it. I even got to go to a little party the next day and - as the last item says - I got steak (since the lasagna had pork in it and I have allergies). It was nice. Very very nice, actually. So was the drinking game (I had Mr. Pibb/Dr. Pepper). Got to bed at like 5am, but it was totally worth the night out.
hey happy belated birthday! glad you have fun! And no idea which you're wearing...
