I'm going to share a truth with you: your friends shouldn't have to choose and the ones you make choose are not your friends.
Timmy made the unfortunate decision to rid himself of a "friend" today.
Here's the basic breakdown: two guys that were friends got into a fight over a girl. The situation revolving around the girl is:

Here's the basic breakdown: two guys that were friends got into a fight over a girl. The situation revolving around the girl is:
- Unknown to me. There's history there and I have no idea what it is or how long. I met the girl. She thought Andrew was creepy and liked Men (yes, that's his name -- Men) a bit.
- Irrelevant. I don't need to know the whole story about her in order to make my point and neither do you.
Between these two guys, however, a division arose because of this girl. At this point, it spilled into Facebook...
Enter the drama...
People with no clue as to what is going on are bombarded since both of these guys have friends in common. Andrew in particular makes every effort he can to insult or demean Men at every opportunity for all manner of things. Are they true? I don't know the whole story, so I don't know. Are they false? I don't know the whole story, again I cannot speak to that. What I can say is that it was blown terribly out of proportion.
Andrew straight up did not care who got involved in this spat between him and this person. I could take snapshots.... Actually, hold on a moment.....

I actually had to put that together in Photoshop to string the 50 comment flare-up that occurred on Rickey's status (a common friend to the the two... moreso Men than Andrew).
Yes, 50 comments. I can't even imagine the madness that possessed him and as you can read, neither could anyone else. Still here, we find Timmy finally at a breaking point as he writes a status being aware of the history with the girl, Men and Andrew. He simply wishes his friends to continue being friends in spite of the girl being present and when he expresses his dislike for the chain of events and the cause of it, both friends start attacking him calling him unsupportive at one point (Men) and demanding that he choose one friend or the other (Andrew) with no regard to how he feels about them as individual people.
At this point, I stepped in and had to regulate and because of that, Timmy is down a "friend". I put it in quotes because friendship is not that selfish (although it can be at times). Timmy explained that he did not want to choose (which is a wise choice in and of itself) and that he would continue to be there for them even if he did not agree with their individual decisions. This is what Men finally learned and accepted, hence he and Timmy remain friends. I talked to Men and explained some things and he calmed down, thought carefully, and apologized.
Andrew was another story. Andrew flat out said he didn't care who got caught in the crossfire; everyone that was his friend was going to make a choice, full stop. He said that Men always paints himself as the good guy (not that Men ever did) and that Timmy would have to stop talking to Men if he wished to be friends. That last thing is the reason I'm writing all of this.
Friends do not make you choose. Furthermore, if anyone reading this ever in their life deigns to tell me that I have to choose between them and someone else -- and their name is not Jesus, the Christ -- you will be dropped so fast it will leave you with whiplash. DO NOT BRING ME THAT BULLSHIT. I am not, nor have I ever been, a person to take sides between friends unless there is someone clearly right and clearly wrong. In this case, there's a girl involved that neither of them were dating at the time. It's like Men stole Andrew's girlfriend. It's a choice she made. Okay, good game, move on....
...seriously, to quote Julien, I will eat your fucking heart and no, I don't care if anyone is offended by that word right now.
To Timmy in particular, I want to say this:
You were wise in not making a choice and even more so for sticking to your guns and continuing to be supportive even when it got you spat on and shit upon for days as you tried to be the best friend you knew how to be. In all of this, the only thing I can say is that people make choices and we don't always agree and you do not have to agree with every single thing your friends now or in the future choose for themselves. Furthermore, disagreeing on an issue does not mean that friendship has to end. Anyone that behaves otherwise is a selfish, pompous ass that deserves to be out of your life. You're a good friend even if Andrew decided to show his ass.
Now I'm going to have to go to FB and unfriend Andrew's dumb ass because I'm not about this shit. I can see the signs and if this is how he treats a person that has had his back for years, I'm not going to wait until he brings that shit to my front door. I will go ahead and rid myself of that right now.
End trans.
Un-fucking-believable.
