about that minimalism thing: part 4

So the minimizing and downsizing continues. So far, so good. Everyday, I'm looking at the things I have and making more room for things that are important to me. I'm loving the process most of the time. Now and then, it's hard, but I manage to get through it all I think. Let's take a look at my room right now.

Here's some stuff I decided to take to the Goodwill ASAP.

I took about half of the hats off my hat wall since I don't wear them. I put my extra cables and cords in the box. I put belts in this box. I placed my room trash can in this box so I would have more impetus to simply walk downstairs and put my trash there and not keep it upstairs. Letter sorters and all of these things. None of them useful. In the box, in the box, in the effin box.

I decided, after looking at my floor, that I was due up to vacuum a bit. Cleaning the floor took me a total of... 3 minutes maybe. That cleared my entire floor. Wow.

After I finished vacuuming, I placed things where they belonged again. Maybe two more minutes. I felt a rush of energy; minimizing was saving me time. Nothing to clean meant less time to clean it. Setting up my room again was cake and after that I took a picture or two. Take a look:

Anyone remember this desk from before?

No? Didn't think so. So the journey continues as I get rid of email address (three deleted) and blogs (teetering on that) and other unnecessary things (stay tuned for that) and other things while getting clearer pictures on the things that are important to me like my punching bag and dumbbells.

I'm enjoying this moment a lot.
