Today, I took the time to think about something in particular about God. It was a very random thing and it occurred partly because of a conversation I had yesterday. It's a miraculous thing that I can look at this world and find anything in it worth loving. At all.
Considering everything that has happened -- things gained, things lost, things changed into unimaginably good (or bad) things -- I am in awe of this fact. It is one of many signs to me that God exists. Maybe that's a hard concept to understand, but I've been alive long enough to see humanity and its shape and nature and still, in spite of all of it, I manage to wake up and find something to laugh about. A reason to smile. A person worth loving. For all its frustrations and headaches and heartaches, I enjoy being alive.
Thank you, God, for that.
